How do these machines produce ice cubes in bulk to keep our drinks cool?

Icemakers are essentially a conveyor
belt of ice cubes made for instant use.
They come in a variety of shapes and
sizes for different purposes, but almost all use
the method of freezing water in a mould and
then heating it slightly so the ice cubes slide out
with ease. Here we look at how a conventional
icemaker built into a domestic fridge-freezer
works, like the one pictured .
