Amazing animal

The mountain goat is amazingly adapted to life on
the mountainside. Their hooves are curved and
fl exible to provide them more grip and traction on
the treacherous slopes. Despite looking spindly and
thin, their legs are actually very strong and they
can leap surprisingly large distances.
They have two coats, a warm, woolly undercoat
and a thinner but longer overcoat, which keeps the
insulating undercoat dry. This system is how they
can stand the cold temperatures long after bigger
animals have given up and descended down the
mountain in cold weather.
